Animal SOS is a foundation dedicated to improving animal welfare. Founded in 2011, our efforts are in owner retention, rescue support, and low-cost spay/neuter. We work in the Columbus, Georgia area and are an all-volunteer operation.
Our Owner Retention Program helps senior and disabled citizens keep their pets, including providing low-cost spay/neuter. And with the Frances Steed Memorial Fund, we are able to help those pets who are at risk of being surrendered to Animal Control. We also think our local rescues are awesome and help them with vet care and supporting their fund raising efforts. We provide transportation for seniors and rescues to areas inside the Columbus area. And we strive to educate the community concerning animal welfare and responsible ownership.
Animal SOS supports TNR (trap, neuter, return) for free-roaming cats. We helped implement the first ever Free-Roaming Cat Program in Columbus and support the current Best Friend’s Community Cat Program.
Animal SOS is always looking for volunteers and like-minded people to help in a variety of areas. Donations are welcome and can be designated to the program that interests you. We are excited to be helping animals and the people who share their lives with them by our services and outreach.
Please contact us if you are interested in helping, so together we can “Answer the Call of Animals in Need”.
The aim of Animal SOS is to network and support animal welfare groups, educate the community, and improve the lives of animals.
