Animal SOS is a support system for animal welfare working with concerned advocates (rescues, shelters, TNR groups, others) within 50 miles of Columbus. We are an all volunteer group.
As Animal SOS starts our efforts to improve animal welfare in this area, we are supporting local rescues and helping senior citizens keep their pets by providing basic needs and medical care. We provide transportation for seniors within the Columbus, Georgia area and to rescues within three hours of Columbus. We also strive to educate the community concerning animal welfare and responsible ownership.
We market all of our advocates and designate special funds to benefit specific causes (for example, Columbus Animal Control Medical Supplies), while general contributions address our core missions.
Animal SOS is always looking for volunteers and like-minded people to help in a variety of areas. Donations are welcome and can be designated to the program that interests you. We are excited to be helping animals and the people who share their lives with our services and outreach. In the future our operation will grow to include expanded owner retention, spay/neuter incentives, TNR programs, and more.
If you are interested in becoming an advocate or volunteering, please go to our "Join Us" tab.
The aim of Animal SOS is to network and support our advocates, educate the community, and improve the lives of animals.
