Getting A New Pet
Be careful buying from pet stores or breeders. You may be supporting a puppy mill, places where they think of massed-produced product, where quantity is more important than quality. Many (if not most) of the animals from these type of places come with multiple health issues.
Instead, consider saving a life by adopting from your local shelter or rescue. (Many pet stores have adoption events. We love them.) It may surprise you the variety of breeds available. You could find the pure bred animal you have been looking for waiting for a new home (although we think mutts are fantastic).
Before getting a new pet, the following links will show you things to consider so you can make the best choice for your lifestyle. Go to our adoption tab to find local options of where you can find that just right pet.
