Pets Safe At Home
Pets Safe at Home is a safety net for pet owners. This program concentrates on helping pets at risk of being surrendered to Columbus Animal Care and Control by helping with impound fees, vetting, fencing, assisting with rehoming and food under our Pets Safe at Home Program.
By counseling owners, they are educated about other options to take care of their pets, whether it be re-homing themselves or taking advantage of available medical care help, resulting in fewer dogs entering animal control. |

Do You Need To Rehome A Dog?
An update on one of our first Pets Safe At Home pups, Fancy.
For those who haven’t been following her case, she was an owner surrender that we did not try to stop from surrendering. She was part of an abuse case and was extremely malnourished. This little girl stole our heart from day one. Animal SOS put out a plea for an adopter or foster. Lea (who actually suggested Fancy for her name) came to her rescue and agreed to foster her. Fancy quickly stole her heart also. Fancy spent a couple months with her while she was treated for heart worms and had time to heal. Fancy is now with her new family and is thriving! Fancy now has 2 little boys that are crazy about her. Her nightly ritual is to jump and be caught by her dad to welcome him home! Fancy’s story is truly amazing and is an example of how our community can pull together and Save Them All…one at a time. We want to give a huge Thank You to Lea and Fancy’s new family for allowing Fancy to be SAFE AT HOME!!! |
